Paint The Town Red

I feel like red is gonna be big this season. I’ve seen it creeping into shops since the start of Autumn, and I love it. It is both Halloweeny and Christmassy and goes with most items. Red jumper and jeans = sorted. I’ve gathered a few items over the last couple of months that either are, or feature different shades of red if it is too bold of a colour for you. Up until recently, the colour red had just been a going out colour for me, usually a red bodycon dress, however I am embracing it more as an everyday colour. (Although I am still too scared of a red lip)

Pull & Bear Jumper

£9.99! Could not believe how cheap this was, and for the price it is unbelievably soft! I think it is a really flattering length on me as it sits just on my high waisted jeans and doesn’t swamp me. It is properly bright red so I only wear it on days where I feel confident with my hair or makeup. It feels like a christmas jumper without the lurid pattern or sparkle and compulsory itch.

 Zara Blouse

This is for people who don’t like really bright red, the stripes are more of a deep red/burgundy. It is super lightweight and comfortable and I have had a few compliments on it. £19.99 so not too bad in price either! Will definitely be wearing this throughout the coming months, it also looks great under a black jumper because of the length.

Zara Stripe Leggings

I’ve seen trousers and leggings with a red stripe down either side around for a while, mainly in the form of wide leg trousers or joggers with poppers down the side. I am definitely not brave enough for these so when I saw these leggings I knew they were a perfect way to inject a bit of red into an otherwise usually all black outfit. They are super comfortable and thick, although a bit long for me perhaps as I have to adjust them so they don’t gather round my knee. I’m 5ft5 for reference. They look awesome with a leather jacket and some buckle boots.

 Burnt Orange Flowery Top

Bit of a cheat here, this is still in stock at River Island and is one of my favourite tops however it is not strictly red. However, I think burnt orange is a brilliant colour to start off with and build up to red. I bought this for my birthday over summer and have worn it with black jeans, denim jackets, black wide leg trousers, shorts amongst other things. It is a beautiful top and it being a long crop means I could wear it during the day and easily switch it into evening wear. This is a selection of outfits I wore it with.

I think this is going to be the new black this season, and getting a few bits in early means you can look super cool and autumnal before all the red has flown off the shelves. It literally looks good at any time of day 🙂

Happy Shopping!
